IMPORTANT TERMS

GUTTATION: Loss of water from the edges of the leaves through a stomata like opening called hydathode.

TRASPIRATION: Loss of water in the form of vapours from the living through the aerial parts of plant.

SYMPLAST : The water molecules enter into the cell sap & then pass from one cell to another along the concentration gradient.

APOPLAST: The water molecules do not enter into the cell sap. They move through cell wall & inter cellular spaces.

ANTITRANSPIRANTS: A substance applied to the plant for purpose of reducing transpiration is called antitranspirants.
