A flower is a modified shoot, shoot apical meristem changes to changes to floral meristem.
The arrangement of flora axis is termed as inflorescence.
Types of inflorescence:
1. RACEMOSE INFLORESCENCE
2. CYMOSE INFLORESCENCE
3. SPECIAL TYPE INFLORESCENCE

| In this type the main axis of shoot continue to grow and the flowers are born on lateral branches ether in acropetal or centripetal manner. | In this the main axis terminates into a flower and the growth continue by lateral branches but these also terminate into flower hence growth is limited .The flower arrangement is either basipetal or centrifugal. |
Acropetal : Youngest at the apex and oldest at the base.
Basipetal : outer or basal flower are young and the central and upper flower are old.
Centripetal : younger towards the centre and older towards the apex.
